Adobe integration for improved workflows
Adobe® Premiere® Pro CS4 software offers unparalleled integration with Adobe's world-class video and graphics software, enabling you to work effortlessly in a consistent, unified environment that delivers superior post-production efficiencies.
Adobe After Effects integration
Adobe After Effects® projects can be exported as Adobe Premiere Pro projects, maintaining folders as bins, individual edits, markers, keyframed effects, nested sequences, transitions, and more. Drag and drop or copy and paste clips and timelines between Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Open complete Adobe Premiere Pro projects, including nested sequences, in After Effects. Effects can be applied in one application and rendered in another. For example, you can make adjustments in Adobe Premiere Pro using the Three-Way Color Corrector and then render that effect at higher color depth in After Effects. You can also initiate the process of capturing footage in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 within After Effects CS4 (in Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium only).
Transfer groups of edited clips for motion graphics work in After Effects CS4 using a single command. Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 re-creates the structure of your clips in an After Effects composition, and then imports the composition into the timeline using Dynamic Link. From there, changes made in After Effects are shown automatically in Adobe Premiere Pro, enabling you to experiment with your motion graphics without having to render.
Take advantage of After Effects CS4 software plug-ins to expand your effects options. Most After Effects CS4 plug-ins are compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.

Adobe Photoshop integration
Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 offers the tightest possible workflow integration with Adobe Photoshop® software, maximizing the efficiency with which still images can be incorporated into video production. Import and animate Photoshop layers in Adobe Premiere Pro. Instantly edit Adobe Premiere Pro stills in Photoshop, and then automatically match the frame size and aspect ratio of an Adobe Premiere Pro project — even in HD — when creating new files.
- Flexible Adobe Photoshop® layer options
Control how Photoshop files look when imported into Adobe Premiere Pro. Preview all layers, choose which layers to import, and then choose how to import the layers—as individual layers, merged, or as a sequence. - Support for Photoshop files with video
Avoid the rendering step from Adobe Photoshop when importing Photoshop files that contain video. Simply import the files and use them just like any other video clip in the timeline. - Support for Photoshop blend modes
Match your favorite looks from Photoshop CS4 by applying blend modes to clips on the Adobe Premiere Pro timeline. When you import Photoshop files, blend modes are automatically carried over into Adobe Premiere Pro and are fully keyframable.
Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended integration
Save time when using Photoshop files with direct import of video layers. Import and animate individual Photoshop layers, and retain the same blending modes to maintain consistency and control. Edit still images from Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 with Photoshop CS4 Extended software, and automatically create Photoshop PSD files to match the current project’s frame size and aspect ratio.
Direct-to-disk recording with included Adobe OnLocation™ CS4
Save tape and time by eliminating capture from your production process. Record SD and HD video directly to hard disk using Adobe OnLocation CS4 software, included with Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, and log metadata while shooting. Transfer content directly to Adobe Premiere Pro for editing, maintaining all metadata and clip information.
Adobe Encore integration
Reach the widest possible audience with Adobe Encore CS4® software, included with Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. In Adobe Premiere Pro, send media and timeline markers directly to Encore CS4 for authoring to Blu-ray Disc, DVD, and interactive SWF for the web. In Encore, use Edit Original to modify your original project in Adobe Premiere Pro, and then import the changes back into your DVD project.
Dynamic Link integration between Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and Encore CS4
Send sequences directly from Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 to Encore CS4 without rendering first. Adobe Dynamic Link enables sequences to open “live” in Encore, with any changes made in Adobe Premiere Pro automatically reflected. Encore also reads chapter markers from the sequence, making it easy to set chapters in Adobe Premiere Pro, see those chapters in Encore, and then update to the latest list with a single click.
Adobe Soundbooth integration
Send audio files directly to Adobe Soundbooth™ CS4 software for editing, and hear changes against picture immediately in the Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 timeline. Instant updating makes it easy to achieve the right effect.
Adobe Illustrator® CS4 integration
Open Illustrator files in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. When you scale an image in Adobe Premiere Pro, the image is continuously rasterized, so image quality remains pristine.
Text copy and paste between Adobe Creative Suite® components
Achieve the same look for text in multiple deliverable formats. Exchange text via copy and paste between other Adobe Creative Suite components and the Adobe Premiere Pro titler. The text retains all supported formatting, including fonts, spacing, and styles.
Adobe Dynamic Link with Adobe After Effects (Creative Suite 4 Production Premium only)
Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 is the video editing component of Adobe Creative Suite® 4 Production Premium, which offers deep integration between Adobe's world-class video and graphics software and provides you with a powerful, unified design environment. Combined with the groundbreaking efficiency of Adobe Dynamic Link and Adobe Bridge CS4, this highly efficient workflow will allow you to deliver your best work.
In the past, it was tedious to update content to address client feedback, and then make other changes when incorporating visual effects into a video edit. Changes made in After Effects would have to be carefully managed in your editing timeline, and then re-rendered and re-imported. The result was an inefficient and time-consuming workflow. Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium offers a compelling alternative: the ability to create live links between projects in After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro. Dynamic Link eliminates the need to render an After Effects composition before importing it into your Adobe Premiere Pro timeline. All After Effects layers remain accessible. Changes made in After Effects can be previewed instantly, without the need to render a movie first. This allows you to make changes quickly and render only when you finalize your results.
Adobe Bridge CS4
Adobe Bridge CS4 brings the files in your project into one central command center, making it faster and easier to access and manage video and audio files, native Photoshop and Illustrator files, and After Effects projects. Efficiently organize, browse, preview, and locate your content files. Drag the files you want directly from Adobe Bridge CS4 into your current project. Within Adobe Bridge CS4, you can also run batch processes and handle a wide range of common tasks, such as creating new folders, renaming, moving, or deleting files.
Adobe Bridge CS4 minimizes disruption to your creative flow because it makes it easy to find exactly what you want. Using industry-standard Adobe XMP metadata, you can make complex searches based on very specific criteria. You can add metadata to your files and view that information in Adobe Bridge CS4 without opening the file. Metadata can include everything from digital image capture information to copyright status and keywords. Easily edit metadata for any content file, or multiple files at once. For sets of metadata values you use often, you can create and save metadata templates and then quickly apply them to content files.
To make more on-screen space available, you can toggle Adobe Bridge to compact mode, reducing it to a floating palette for easy access at any time. Adobe Bridge CS4 gives you numerous options for viewing your assets — including Thumbnails, Filmstrip, and Details. You can also resize previews with a simple slider control. With Adobe Bridge CS4, the files you need are always at your fingertips.
